‘Climate Change in the Mediterranean area: the Italian case and the impact climate change on road and motorway infrastructures’.<\/p>\n

This was the theme of the speech that Valerio Molinari and Miriam Olmeda Alarcon, representing Ecogest and the Climate Change Study Centre, gave today during the session on ‘Resilience and Solutions to Adapt to Climate Change’ at the<\/p>\n

second European edition of the Sustainability Forum, organised by ASECAP, an association<\/p>\n

which brings together 21 European states and Morocco, and is being held in Vienna.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

During the speech, Miriam Olmeda Alarcon, a researcher at the CCSC, and Molinari, a reference shareholder of Ecogest spa, and founder of the Centre for Climate Change Studies, took stock of the impact of climate change in the Mediterranean area, dwelling in particular on the adverse consequences already recorded on the transport infrastructures of the area under review.<\/p>\n

In the course of his well-received report, Molinari also dwelt on the need to adapt maintenance programmes, starting with green and environmental maintenance, to the new climate challenges.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Today’s appointment confirmed not only the international vocation of our commitment,” said Molinari, “but also the extreme attention paid by the world of European motorway concessionaires to the issue of climate change. Our mission now will be that of the Italian motorway operators, also with the support of AISCAT (the Italian trade association),<\/p>\n

of which I have the honour to be a member of the board, to put at the top of the national agenda of the<\/p>\n

sector the issue related not only to climate change, but also to instruments<\/p>\n

necessary to neutralise the consequences on the transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n
