OFFICIAL LETTER SENT TO THE UKRAINIAN AMBASSADOR TO ITALY AND THE HEAD OF THE

CIVIL PROTECTION.

RAVENNA – From Emilia Romagna, the company Ecogest spa, leader in Italy and worldwide in the field of motorway green maintenance, extends its hand to Ukrainian refugees. At the instigation of the Molinari family, at the helm of the company and the Greenway Group holding company, a letter was sent this morning to the ambassador to Italy of the Republic of Ukraine, H.E. Yaroslav Melnyk, and to the head of Italy’s Civil Protection, Fabrizio Curcio, to officially announce the willingness to provide shelter and work for 20 households among those fleeing from Ukraine because of the war. In the face of the complex international scenario and the ensuing humanitarian crisis, Ecogest wants to do its part. The intention of the Molinari family, the board and the entire management staff, is to hire up to 20 Ukrainian heads of families on the run, in line with Italian contractual conditions, so that they can keep their loved ones in tow. A

small but significant gesture, a drop of hope in the sea of suffering that Europe and Ukraine are experiencing.

“The current international scenario, and the resulting humanitarian crisis, cannot leave Italy and its production system indifferent,’ writes Valerio Molinari in his letter to the ambassador. ‘Ukraine is not just any nation, but a constant presence in the daily lives of thousands of Italians, who have entrusted not only with important operational roles, but often also with family affections.

To politics and institutions we leave the task of addressing international geopolitical issues and identifying possible solutions. To us, who are the beating economic heart of the country, together with the thousands of small and medium-sized Italian companies, we reserve the task of making this beating heart beat. A heart that speaks of solidarity, commitment, and the ability to welcome’. At Ecogest, thanks to a modern and innovative industrialisation process of a work traditionally ‘poor’ like grass cutting, about 200 families of

different origins and ethnicities, under the banner of a multiracial and multiculturalism that is not only preached but also practised.”In this context we open the doors of ‘our home’ ideally to all Ukrainian people, in the knowledge that they are making a small gesture compared to the scale of the humanitarian crisis that is about to hit our country and the whole of Europe, but in the hope that this choice can be a sprout for the blossoming of a network of solidarity, in the construction of which Italy has never shirked,’ Molinari concludes in his letter to the ambassador, remaining at the disposal of the Italian authorities as well.
