Italy comes up with an innovative vision: turning green into an active infrastructure. This was the message brought by Ecogest, an Italian company active in the environmental management of road networks, at the international symposium Navigating the Future of Traffic Management.
Ecogest illustrated some Italian best practices to the international audience: from the vegetation barriers created in the Brescia area to the green mitigation areas on the A6, and the renaturation projects in natural parks. An integrated approach combining environmental design, technical maintenance and innovation.
“It is no longer the time for lists of problems, but for operational answers. Green costs less, works better and protects people and infrastructure. All that is needed is the political will to really put it at the centre,’ emphasised Molinari.
